I am a 54-year-old wife and mother.  I am madly in love with my husband and have a much adored grown son.  I live in the southwestern United States.  I worked for a major corporation for 29 years before becoming disabled by fibromyalgia.  I never felt the business world was for me, but it paid the bills.

I am now free to pursue more creative endeavors, and have revisited my lifelong passion for painting.  I also enjoy working with polymer clay and am currently learning (and obsessed with) bead embroidery.  I am mad about books, movies, and have been known to watch a little too much reality television.

My blog is about my life with fibromyalgia, the things I love to do, and how they have saved me.  I hope you enjoy my blog, and welcome your comments or suggestions.

    Hi Karen,
I have enjoyed looking at your art, you are talented. Mom sent me your blog website and told me to check it out. I hope you are having more good days than bad with your health. I do believe that faith and self determination help push you along even when your body is not willing to accommodate. I am doing well and have a final exam to complete this weekend, so I better get with it. The family is great. I just had a Mother’s Day Tea with Mom and we had a great time together. I will have to go to Panhandle soon so we can have our girl’s night slumber party. Take care of yourself and keep up the creative flow- it is good for the soul.

    Talk again soon-
    Your Cousin,
    Terrie

Thanks, Terrie. What a nice thing it is to hear from you. Your mom was telling me about the Mother’s Day luncheon, and it sounded so nice. I hope you guys had a good time. Your mom told me you are working with geriatric patients. I think that is so cool. When I was a Nurse’s Aide my favorite patients were older people. What are you going to school for? I’m guessing nursing related? I got an email from your mom and she was talking about your work, and I have to say I was fascinated with what you are doing. Glad your family is doing well, and good luck on your final exam.

I hope I don’t sound like a whiner about my health. I don’t want my poor husband, friends and family to have to listen to it, so the blog is a way for me to sort of vent. It started out to be sort of an anonymous type thing, but it turns out that the very people I didn’t want to complain to are reading the blog. Honestly, I never lose sight of the fact that more often than not, other folks are dealing with much worse than my health issues. And I am very accepting about my life exactly as it is, and grateful for it. I don’t think a person can truly be happy when they are fighting with circumstances beyond their control. You are right, faith is the key to any obstacle or challenge in life. I honestly don’t understand how people function without it.

You sound like a busy person, but I would love to hear from you again. It would be so nice to get reacquainted. Take care, and thanks for your comments.
